On November 6-9, 2023, the management of the Azimut Med Group company, as part of the government delegation of St. Petersburg, visited the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
During the visit, the first meeting of the working group between the Government of St. Petersburg and the Khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent was held, chaired by Evgeny Grigoriev and Deputy Khokim of the city of Tashkent Sharof Rakhmanov.
The meeting of the working group was attended by representatives of the executive bodies of state power of St. Petersburg, departments of the Khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent, organizations, and enterprises.
Following the meeting, a protocol on priority areas of cooperation was signed, including in the fields of trade and economic relations, youth policy, physical education and sports, tourism, housing and communal services, healthcare, and social policy.
The parties agreed to convene the second meeting in 2024 in St. Petersburg.
During the visit, the St. Petersburg delegation also participated in meetings with the State Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Head of the Department of Youth Policy of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kakhramon Kuranbayev, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, First Deputy Minister for Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Sadullaev and Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zhamshed Urakov.
Following the meetings, the parties have reached an agreement to strengthen cooperation between St. Petersburg and Uzbekistan in various fields. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Committee on Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations and the Youth Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as an Agreement between the Association for the Promotion of International Labor Migration and the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Volgograd Memorial Cemetery, where they laid flowers at the Battle Glory Memorial and a memorial plaque dedicated to the Uzbek soldiers-defenders of Leningrad.
