Visit to Uzbekistan

This is the second visit of the St. Petersburg delegation to the Republic since the beginning of this year.

The working business mission to Uzbekistan was headed by Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade Olga Goryshina, and the delegation included heads of 13 St. Petersburg manufacturing enterprises of the agro-industrial complex, medical and pharmaceutical industries.

As part of the business program, the St. Petersburg delegation visited Samarkand and Tashkent, establishing new partnerships with representatives of the government and business community of Uzbekistan as a result of the visit.

In continuation of the joint work carried out since April 2024, during the working visit, a memorandum was signed between the Committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St. Petersburg and the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, which enshrines the mutual desire of the parties for mutually beneficial cooperation. There are a number of promising areas in the agro-industrial complex: this includes the supply of agricultural machinery to Uzbekistan, and industrial cooperation, including the focus on increasing the volume of supplies of fruit and vegetable products to the retail chains of the Northern capital.

As part of the busy business program, special attention was paid to issues of cooperation in the field of medicine.
